Take off to Turkey for $1,002 return with this Etihad sale

That’s $700 less than other airlines are charging.

With flight prices to Europe going absolutely bonkers right now (not to mention hotels), we started looking elsewhere for holiday inspiration. And we’re glad we did! Turkey flights are going for just $1,002 return thanks to the latest Etihad sale.

The “Early Winter Sale” has discounted fares to a few cities across Europe and the Middle East, but we were most excited about these flights to Istanbul.

💡 Cheaptrips tip: Did you know Etihad has a complimentary stopover program? There is a rather long stopover on the return flight from Istanbul back to Sydney, but you can take advantage of a free hotel stay in Abu Dhabi to rest or use as a base for a day of exploring the city.

Where can I travel from?

You can only fly to Istanbul from Sydney at this price.

The next-cheapest departure we were able to find is from Melbourne, for about $230 more. (Which just isn’t quite as exciting.) The Melbourne flight also has rather long stopovers and, unlike Sydney, it’s in both directions.

When is this cheap Turkey flight available?

We found the lowest prices available in November, with the above Sydney-Istanbul screenshot taken for a departure on 4 November and a return on 20 November.

According to Etihad’s website, you can travel at the discounted price from late September to late March, but we weren’t finding much available outside November for $1,002.

A full service airline, Etihad includes checked bags, in-flight meals and drinks and entertainment with your ticket. For flights with long stopovers, you should also qualify for a hotel in Abu Dhabi..
