How to find the best Fiji travel deals
November, March and April.
Fortunately, Fiji flight prices don’t fluctuate too much throughout the year. But that’s not to say they don’t fluctuate at all. The wet season — from November to April — will be the least desirable time to visit. With less demand, prices drop.
An exception to this is during December and January when school holidays, Christmas and New Year’s bump up demand and prices.
Being such a popular island getaway for Australians, December and January will be the most expensive times to go as it’s both the school summer holidays and Christmas and New Year.
April to July also sees the fewest cruises docking in Fiji, so that could mean cheaper prices on activities as they won’t have as high of a demand from cruisers looking to book excursions.

If you’re patient enough, waiting until Black Friday or Boxing Day can reward you with a stellar deal as airlines like Fiji Airways, Jetstar and Qantas tend to run sales.
If you’re not, don’t fret.
Every week, Jetstar and Virgin Australia have sales. Jetstar’s Friday Fare Frenzy drops the prices on a handful of routes from 12-8pm, every Friday. Sometimes the sale is extended for the weekend. Fiji isn’t always included, but keep an eye on this sale as it can be! Virgin Australia’s Happy Hour sale runs every Thursday from 4-11pm. Like Jetstar’s sale the routes change every week, but is worth checking in on.
Unless you’re booking for a peak period, such as Christmas, New Year’s or Easter, Fiji flight prices don’t change that much if you’re looking for a last-minute deal or are booking far in advance.
For example, we found flights from Sydney to Nadi for $263 for flights next month, or for six months from now.
If you’re booking a cruise to Fiji, on the other hand, prices do tend to drop the closer to the departure date you get. But that’s only if cheaper cabins are still remaining.
Luckily, some cruise lines, like Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, offer price drop guarantees. So even if you do book it in at a higher rate, you can call them up and get the difference back.
When there’s a sale on it, these are the prices you can expect to pay to consider it a good deal.
Flights to Nadi:
– Brisbane: $350-$450
– Sydney: $350-$450
– Melbourne: $450-$550
– Adelaide: $475-$575
– Perth: $800-$900
When it comes to hotels, prices don’t go up and down nearly as much as flights, other than during the peak of high season (Christmas to New Year). You can expect prices to be similar to what’s below:
– 3-star: $60-$90 per night
– 4-star: $90-$150 per night
– 5-star: $300+ per night (or more if staying in the islands)
When it comes to touristy areas in Fiji, the main island, Viti Levu, tends to have the lowest hotel prices.
Hotels in and around Nadi (but excluding Denarau Island) and on the Coral Coast will be much cheaper than staying at resorts on the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands. Prices on the smaller islands are higher, too, because most resorts have a mandatory meal plan that can cost up to $100 per person, per day.
