Jetstar launches new Broome-Singapore route with a $145 price tag

Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, where Jetstar will now fly to direct from Broome.

New route, who dis?

It’s not yet connecting the stunning beaches of Broome to those of us living on the east coast of Australia, but Jetstar is now flying between Broome and Singapore and is slinging $145 flights to celebrate the launch.

If you’re a Club Jetstar member, you can pay as low as $115 instead.

While the airline and tourism industries are lauding the route as a new way to bring Singaporeans to Western Australia, we’re loving how much easier it’s going to make travelling to Asia for Broome locals.

Broome International Airport’s CEO said in a press release: “This connectivity also brings Broome closer to the rest of the world, providing fantastic holiday and travel options for residents of the North West looking to save time and money by flying direct to Singapore, and then to any number of onward destinations.”

The new Jetstar Broome-Singapore flights are not just the only ones available on this route, but the only international route available from the coastal city.

Previously, you’d have to fly from Broome to Perth (2.5 hours) or Darwin (3 hours) and then connect to Singapore (or anywhere else outside of Australia). Factoring in the minimum time possible between flights, the route shaves at least four hours off the journey.

But now, onto the sale details.

Where can I travel?

As it’s just celebrating the new Jetstar route, you can fly between Broome and Singapore only with sale.

When are these cheap flights available?

There’s three travel windows available. Choose from:

  • 25 June until 6 August, 2024
  • 17 August until 3 September, 2024
  • 8 October until 22 October, 2024

Luckily these aren’t just cheap times to visit Singapore, but some of the best. While it’s always pretty steamy in the Lion City, rainfall is relatively steady except for November to January when it’s particularly wet.

What’s included in the price?

This is still a Jetstar sale, after all. You’ll just get the usual guarantee of a eat on the plane and a 7kg carry-on bag.

Can I get any frequent flyer points?

No. While Jetstar is part of the Qantas family, you can’t earn any points on the entry-level ‘Starter’ fare.

Overall, how good is this sale?

Fantastic!

Not only does it bring a whole new, faster and more convenient way for those in Broome to get to Asia, but it’s by far the cheapest too at $310 return.

We did a comparison on Kayak and found the next-cheapest fares were $1,200 with Qantas or Singapore Airlines. That’s almost four times the price. They also take more than double the amount of time to get there are they aren’t direct.
