When are these cheap flights available?
Luckily, there’s a pretty wide range of travel dates available in this Jetstar sale. There’s three travel windows available:
- October 2024 to early December, 2024
- Mid-January 2025 to late-March, 2025
- Late-April 2025 to late-June 2025
As you may have noticed, it does skip over all the peak holiday seasons including Christmas, New Year’s and school holidays.
What’s included in the price?
Jetstar sales don’t include much in the base fare; you’ll get the guarantee of a seat on the plane and up to 7kg of carry-on luggage. You can add on a selected seat, food or checked baggage for a price.
Can I get any frequent flyer points?
Not if you just book the base fare on a Jetstar flight. If you do want extras like checked baggage, it may be worth upgrading your fare to a more inclusive ticket, which allows you to earn Qantas points.
Overall, how good is this Jetstar sale?
We think it’s great! Any Jetstar sale with fares starting at less than $30 is one we often book. (And we have! We’re taking off to Cairns with this one)
Plus, we found discounted dates over the Australia Day long weekend. Usually long weekends are either excluded or sell our very quickly.

Our experiences travelling with Jetstar
While it’s not our favourite Australian airline (that one goes to Qantas), Jetstar is perfectly fine to travel with. Especially when the price is right. Prices do match the service though. We’re light travellers who rarely check baggage and don’t mind eating before boarding, so not having checked baggage or food included isn’t a big deal for us.
Admittedly, we often do cave and pay for a selected seat. No one likes getting stuck in the middle.
