How to get the best Malaysia travel deals

Finding cheap Malaysia flights

Getting the lowest price on flights to Malaysia will likely mean checking budget carriers like AirAsia, Scoot and Jetstar.

AirAsia is the only one that will get you there direct, but that’s just to Kuala Lumpur. So if you’re wanting to visit anywhere else in the country, it’s best to check all three and compare prices since you’ll need to connect regardless.

If you’re flying from the West Coast, expect low prices to be between $300 and $350 these days. Just a few years ago, prices would have often dipped below that, but since Covid, the deals haven’t quite bounced back on international fares as much as they have on domestic routes.

If you’re flying from the East Coast, expect low prices to be between $400 and $450.

Getting a deal on Malaysia hotels

Overall, we’ve found Agoda offers some of the best prices for hotels across Asia.

There are dozens of hotel booking sites out there, though, and almost every one will have deals on at any given time. So, before we book Malaysia hotels, we’ll always check multiple to see which one will give us the best price.

We’d recommend starting with an aggregator like HotelsCombined or Kayak that will show you pricing across multiple sites at once. This should help narrow down the search.

Next, check out a few of the lowest-priced options and see if any have sales running. Sometimes, promo codes or coupons are available too. If we’ve found any that are valid for Malaysia hotels, we’ll share them with you, but we won’t be offended if you want to shop around!
