Board a Qantas flight from just $105 each way by booking during the 2023 Black Friday sale.
In a 72-hour surprise of that conveniently overlaps with one of the biggest sale days of the year, the Qantas Black Friday sale has $105 flights to a bunch of destinations across Australia.
Where can you go with this Qantas sale?
Ther were dozens of domestic destinations on sale, including holiday hotspots like Cairns, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Byron Bay, along with major cities across the country..
How to book these flights
Head over to the Qantas website or your preferred travel agent to book these fares. There’s no promo code required to get these prices. Sale ends on 24 November.
What we predicted for the 2023 Qantas Black Friday deals
Pre-covid, sub-$100 fares from the flying kangaroo were pretty common, so we would have loved to see some $99 domestic flights from Qantas this year. But, at $105 we weren’t all that far off.
These are much lower than the 2022 sale prices, but once you get Qantas fares into the double digits, you know you’ve found a food deal.
When will the Qantas sale start?
Black Friday is on 24 November, 2023, but the Qantas sale started on 22 November and ends on Black Friday.
Are the flight deals any good?
They sure are! Black Friday (along with Boxing Day) are the few days of the year that domestic fares dip down to around $100 each way.
How do these fares stack up against other flight deals?
If you’re comparing Qantas fares to other airlines, like Jetstar, Virgin Australia or Rex, then Qantas fares will be the most expensive. But, the higher price does come with its perks. Unlike Jetstar and Virgin, Qantas fares do always include checked baggage and in-flight food and drink. You’ll also get in-flight entertainment and be able to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points.
How does this compare to previous years’ sales?
While Qantas didn’t offer an official Black Friday sale in 2022, it was running a flight sale at the time. Here’s what we’ve seen over Black Friday in previous years, whether it was official or not.
- 2022: $129 domestic flights
- 2021: Canada flights from $1,699 return
- 2019: No flights, but up to 200,000 bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points with bookings
- 2018: China flights from $466 return
Qantas sells more than flights… do those get discounted too?
Yes! In both 2020 and 2021, Qantas did have non-flight deals available on Black Friday.
In 2021 you were able to save up to 20% on brands like Apple and Bose if you paid using points instead of cash. Discounts on headphones were up to 40%, while fitness watches were up to 50% off.
In 2020, the airline was offering up to 50% off purchases in the rewards store, including wine. What we love about this offer is that there were also discounts on the adorable in-flight wine bottles. Who knew you could buy them? Not us!
