After breaking onto the major airline scene just a few years ago, Rex sales have showcased fares that rival the big players. With included checked baggage and onboard refreshments with every fare, these prices are certainly something to watch.

What days of the week should I fly to get the best price?

Rex often has the lowest prices for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is pretty in line with other airlines.

How far in advance do I need to book to get the best fare?

To get the advertised sale fares, we recommend booking at least a couple of weeks in advance.

We tested this out by looking for fares featured in sales. When we were writing this, fares between Melbourne and Hobart were advertised at $79, flights from Melbourne to Canberra were listed at $99 and there’s flights between Adelaide and Sydney for $119.

We were able to get fares between Melbourne and Hobart or Canberra at the advertised price for travel one week in advance, while the flights between Adelaide and Sydney .

Are there regular Rex sales?

Rex doesn’t have a regularly scheduled deal, unlike other Australian carriers such as Virgin Australia and Jetstar, which both have a weekly flash sale.
