Starting at just $49, you can take off to destinations all along the Sunshine State’s coast, including Cairns, the Whitsundays, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.
To get the cheapest fare, you’ll need to fly between Sydney and the Gold Coast, or for $6 more, between Sydney and the Sunshine Coast. But dozens of other routes are also available, including plenty for less than $100 each way.

When is this Virgin Australia sale available?
Fly between February and March on most routes to get the lowest price. Some are also offering these discounted fares for departures in May and June.
💡Cheaptrips tip: If you’re planning on extending your Easter 2024 holiday, you may be able to take advantage of these deals. Good Friday is on 29 March, and many routes have flights available up until 26 March.
Some of those routes include Melbourne-Sunshine Coast, Sydney-Hamilton Island and Perth-Brisbane.

What’s included in the price?
These days, Virgin Australia doesn’t include much in the base fare. You’ll get to bring a carry-on bag up to 7kg, but you won’t get to check a bag unless you pay extra. You’ll be guaranteed a seat on the plane, but you can’t choose which one without adding on an extra fee.
Can I get any frequent flyer points?
Yes! Unlike other budget airlines like Jetstar or Bonza, you can earn frequent flyer points with the base fare. Virgin Australia’s frequent flyer program is Velocity.
